UMN Pictures made another achievement through 'Ahasveros'. This 2D short animated film won the 2021 Piala Citra Festival Film Indonesia for the “Best Short Animated Film” category on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
Ahasveros tells the tragic life of the poet Chairil Anwar who begins to be entangled by the fear of the mortality of his life in the midst of one of the most disturbing periods in Indonesian history. Then, Ahasveros started a quest to leave a lasting mark in the middle of the world.
The writer for this short animated film is UMN alumnus, Bobby Fernando. Apart from being a writer, Bobby is also involved as a director, animator and editor. Bobby is supported by Yenna Mariana as background artist, Diva Stevania as painter, Dwi Atmoko Adi as 3D modeler, Dira Nararyya as sound designer, Elvaretta Tirta as composer, and Jeremiah Harvest as Chairil Anwar.
Visual research in this film was conducted by UMN film history lecturer, Salima Hakim. Meanwhile, the visual style of this film is supervised by animation lecturer, Yohanes Merci. This film also involves Andrey Andoko as executive producer.
